Nigerians hijack Golden Movie Awards
Even before dust settles on concerns that not even one Kumawood movie got nominated for this year’s Golden Movie Awards Africa (GMAA) because the jury says the submitted movies are of poor and substandard quality, organisers have settled on four hosts for the event, and three of them are Nigerians and the fourth one is speculated to be half Ghanaian and half Nigerian.
It is not clear whether on the issue of selecting hosts for the event, the organisers did not find ‘suitable’ Ghanaians and, therefore, had to rely on three Nigerians.
The GMAA is scheduled for Thursday, July 22 at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra, and NEWS-ONE has gathered that the red carpet will be jointly hosted by Ghanaian/Nigerian international model Victoria Michaels and Nigerian actor Sir Uti Nwachukwu, who was a representative from Nigeria in Big Brother Africa.
The main event, according to information NEWS-ONE has gathered, will be handled by two Nigerian celebrities- actress Osas Ighodaro Ajibade and the celebrated Ayo Makun- a multi-award winning Nigerian actor, comedian, radio and TV presenter.

SAMMY 'B
Absolutely Made GH Proud
Former Ghanaian Big Brother housemate Sammy B has slammed critics of the Big Brother Africa Programme. He believes many of those who criticize the Programme are hypocrites.
Samuel Kwame Bampoe as he is known outside showbiz explained the essence of the Big Brother Programme to Ultimate Radio’s Bernard Buachi prior to this year’s finale which saw Ghana’s Elikem place third on Sunday.
He says the programme is all about how people of different cultures and backgrounds co-exist and manage stress as well as boredom.
The entertainer vehemently denied that the Big Brother Programme promotes nudity and immorality.
“You should know how immoral a lot of the people who promote Big Brother are. Check what is going on in the country, check what is happening to our young ladies, check our universities, check our hostels, would you like to compare that to big brother?”
He also draws attention to the fact that the programme is appropriately rated for a certain age bracket.
Sammy B says being locked up for ninety days without TV, clocks or other sources of entertainment, brings up various ways of “killing” stress and surviving in the house.
He says being a mate in the Big Brother House is a lifetime opportunity Ghanaians should not hesitate to grab.
